◄The Senior common room  seen here stripped of furniture and furnishings and undergoing structural improvements before a specialised “wood graining” paint effect is applied to architraves and below dado.

During renovation works, fellows of Lincoln College find refuge in the old ground floor common room  ►

◄ The line of beautifully tall, portrait, multipane casement windows on each side of the room invite a treatment that is in keeping with the period but also ensures the best light into the room  and the best view out onto the quadrangle.

The National Trust provides inspiration in both the festooned flat curtains in the Curzon ballroom, and the tufted upholstery in the settees, both of which echo in the common room re-upholstery and soft furnishings made by Clark & English ►

◄ The room is now wood grained and painted, mirrors are fitted dividing the formal row of windows and returning light to the room, the red silk damask festooned flat curtains are now in place with sun defence roller blinds behind.
